Hunger hits, the cupboards are bare and the thought of getting presentable and heading out the door is unthinkable; we’re not going to judge, we’ve been there too. Sometimes the only option is to act like an emperor and demand food be brought to your presence.
Thankfully, food delivery in Salt Lake City is no longer simply a choice between pizza and Chinese food (not that they aren’t still great options!); today there exists a bevy of useful third parties who will bring practically any cuisine, right to your doorstep; of course there’s usually a small fee to pay too, but when the mood hits, who cares, show me the food!
Restaurant food delivery in SLC:
Door Dash – A newcomer to SLC toward the end off 2017, and a service I am keen to test out. The selection of restaurants Door Dash delivers from is
probably the largest in town, and the delivery pricing the lowest. Door Dash is a national service and like similar offerings has both iOS and Android apps. Prices for the restaurants seem to be largely the same as eating in, you pay only a small delivery fee and tip your drive in the app (the tip goes 100% to the driver).
If you want to test the service use my referral link here:
The delivery charge for your first order will be waived. I’d love to hear about your experience too!
UberEATS – A brand new service to SLC as of September 2017. Get Uber to bring restaurant food right to your doorstep. Use our referral code:
and get five bucks off of your first two orders! UberEATS state their average order to delivery time is just 35 minutes.
Grub Hub | A national operation that offer an iPhone and Android app for the truly couch embedded diner. The service operates seven days a week and hours are based around restaurant opening times. Delivery costs vary but expect to pay $2.99 for restaurants close to your location rising to $7.99-$9.99 for restaurants several miles away.
The app automatically updates you as your order is being prepared, and once it hits the road. At that time you can even track your driver on a live map, just like Uber and Lyft. You can tip your driver right in the app using a credit card, making hunting for change down the sofa a thing of the past.
I’ve used Grub Hub many times and have had nothing but great experiences.
Get Go Delivery | Aimed mainly toward downtown dwellers, is this bike powered service. Simply choose your restaurant within a five mile radius of downtown and let them know. They aim to have your food to you within 15-45 minutes.

Eat 24 Hours | Another larger operation powered by Yelp, that also provides iPhone and Android apps for ease of use. For the indecisive, Eat 24 Hours also offers a “what’s good” feature that shows previous diner’s orders and their rating. Delivery fee’s range from $2-$5.99 with a number of free delivery options listed too.
Note: this service may now be closed. Fetch Food | If you live in the following zip codes, Fetch Food has you covered, 84101, 84102, 84103, 84105, 84106, 84111, 84112, 84113, 84132. Notably, Fetch Food offers free delivery from select restaurants.
Some cool restaurants that deliver in Salt Lake City
New Golden Dragon – One of my own staple restaurants to order delivery food in Salt Lake City from. Great Chinese cuisines that offers standard Americanized fare everyone will enjoy but also plenty of more exotic selections. My personal favorite? The funky and aromatic Salted Fish and Chicken Fried Rice.
