Siegfried’s Delicatessen
Homemade sausage plate: $7.99-$8.99
Siegfried’s Delicatessen serves stick-to-your-ribs German fare for an appealing price, and is central to the downtown SLC area. Every dish on their menu is under $10, and they do serve daily lunch specials that vary from day-to-day. However, a crowd favorite is their sausage plate (served all day), made with one or two of their various homemade sausages. The plate comes with your choice of one to two side dishes from a long list that includes fried potatoes, sauerkraut, coleslaw, or my personal favorite, spaetzle with gravy, just to name a few. Be sure to grab some curry ketchup on the way to your seat – you won’t be disappointed.

Sawadee’s plate lunch special is a delicious deal. Although not exactly a lunch special (as they are available all day), the hummus plates at Curry Fried Chicken are cheap and incredibly tasty. Five of the six hummus plates on the menu are under $10, and include hummus, salad, pita, and your choice of meat, falafel or veggie curry. If you find yourself in need of a drink to wash down the spicy meal, consider splurging on a cold and creamy mango lussi (sweet yogurt drink) for an extra $3.49.
