Great food truck race comes to SLC this weekend

Keep your eyes peeled this weekend for the ‘Great Food Truck Race’ as it rolls into SLC. The popular Food Network show hosted by Tyler Florence will be shooting an episode sometime during Saturday (April 30th) and Sunday (May 1st) right here in Salt Lake.

Actual location details are subject to announcement, as the shows competitors have to think on their feet as they arrive in town, picking their spot at the very last moment. If you haven’t seen the show, think of Top Chef on wheels, as the competitors travel from city to city, each week setting up shop anew and trying to outsell their fellow competitors. Each week someone is eliminated and the show moves on.

New York’s famed Korilla BBQ will be one name to pay special attention to. Their take on Korean BBQ comes highly rated and looks delicious from their online menu.

In addition to the show’s regulars, there is also some local interest too. Two of Salt Lake City’s very own food trucks will be making an appearance as the Chow Truck and Torta Truck both ably assist competitors.

As we receive more updates on the location and competition, we will be sure to announce what we hear through our Twitter and Facebook feeds, plus updates on this story too.
