I agree. I think I have hit the limits of what phpBB3 (this forum software) can do out of the box. It's running the most strict settings I can get it to, including image based verification (captcha) at it's most complex settings.

I believe there are some manual hacks you can implement asking users simple queries like "what is 2+2" (weeds out spam bots well im told) but my programming skills aren't the strongest and my free time is even worse.

I'm actually looking to update a lot of the site, design, backend etc and devote some time to it in one big go so will see what i can do. I think you are right in that new user posts should be auto moderated. I will see if that can be done now.

Right I have upgraded the forum software to it's latest version. This includes some new captcha systems (3d images) to challenge new user signups, will test for a few days to see how it goes!

Plus you should also find you now have more features on the board yourself, I have upgraded your login to full moderator.
