Truly, the stars will be sitting around my table, not on my table – my family. Foodwise, it’ll be the bird. Injected with white wine, butter, herbs and seasonings then grilled.

The usual star of our Thanksgiving is the stuffing. My mom makes it from scratch and it is so good! This year I’m attempting to make a pecan pie… it’s my first time trying it but I love pecan pie so hopefully it will become a Thanksgiving star!

My family is all elsewhere for the first time ever, so my thanksgiving starter will be Skype. Then I’ll probably follow up with a turkey cobb or something.

Going up back in NY, every year we would go to my Aunts house where she woud make turkeys out of gum drops and tooth picks.! It is a tradition that my family has carried on even living here in Utah. Its a reminds us of our family back in NY and the traditions started so long ago.
My favorite thing on the Thanksgiving table is baked yams with brown sugar and butter sauce. They must be cook until the yams are tender and there’s a caramelize crust on top.
It’s going to be a very nontraditional Thanksgiving this year in a multitude of ways, so our Thanksgiving dinner is likely to be pretty nontraditional, too. I’m thinking of doing something Calvin Trillin-ish, like spaghetti alla carbonara, with some healthy and delicious sides.

My family doesn’t care for turkey. Instead we serve ham as the focus of our southern
imspired dinner. Side dishes include Mac and cheese soufflé, oyster dressing (stuffing) and of course pecan pie and banana pudding. Washed down with sweet tea.
