If you are heading on down to SLC’s farmer’s market this weekend, you are in for a special treat. As part of Toyota’s farm to table tour, twelve of Salt Lake’s best chefs will create complimentary samplings for farmers market visitors using fresh local produce to highlight the amazing food available at the Salt Lake City Downtown Farmers Market.
Chef’s in attendance include: Ian Brandt of Sage’s Café and Vertical Diner, Justin Shifflett of Metropolitan, Brian Edwards of The Alta Club, Scott McDonnell of Donovan’s Steak & Chop House, Sam Greeno of Donovan’s Steak & Chop House, Jordan Wong of J. Wong’s Asian Bistro, Jerry Liedtke of Tin Angel Café, Jason Holzworth and Frody Volgger of Vienna Bistro, Fred Moesinger of Café Molise, Sean Wilde of Gracie’s and Jason Sanders of Stoneground Restaurant. The final chef line-up will be available at www.farmtotabletour.com.
In addition to complimentary tastings, visitors will have the opportunity to receive complimentary potted culinary herbs as well as enter for a chance to win a culinary trip to Santa Barbara. Market visitors will also have the chance to take a ride in a 2010 Prius, Prius Plug-in Hybrid, Camry Hybrid or Highlander Hybrid and take home a John Boos cutting board as a memento of the experience.
